The Start

BuddyWalk with Jesus! is the a brain-child of Joe.

After several years of a tough journey of questions, Joe saw the answers lay in finding an intimate relationship with Jesus.

Joe’s many phone conversations with Edgar revealed that the engagement with Scripture led to this intimacy. This foundation led to growth and purpose in his life.

God burdened Joe to see other people granted the same opportunity to see that engaging Scripture invites intimacy with God. This paradigm shift led him to the idea of doing a podcast with Edgar.

Edgar left the corporate-structure found in many Western churches where intimacy with Jesus was not taught. For many churches, the Bible was a text-book to draw principles from its pages.

For him, a question was at the forefront: The infinite God created every person on the planet as unique, so how does one fulfill his or her uniqueness in Him and for Him? The answer to this question does not fit within the four walls of the church, but with the church leaving the building and interacting with her community.

He had a desire to see people become whole in their intimacy with God that they in turn affected the world around them for God’s kingdom.

When he asked God about how to be used, Joe approached him about the podcast. The offer was to have a conversational-styled podcast on engaging Scripture and how two regular guys applied it to their lives, warts and all.
